Amanda’s role as VP Community includes many of the issues that affect students’ outside of the University including housing and transport. She’s also the Students’ Association’s lead on sustainability, and works closely with the University’s Social Responsibility and Sustainability department.

As Vice President Community I work to represent students on all matters regarding their relationship to the wider Edinburgh community.

This includes coordinating and leading campaigns and also informing University strategy on a wide range of issues that affect students as local residents, such as housing, transport, environmental sustainability, and social responsibility.

You can contact me emailing and stay up-to-date on my work by following me on social media.

  • I'm Amanda Scully your Vice President Community for 2020/2021. I studied International Relations and grew up in New York/New Jersey and am always keen to chat about how much I miss Trader Joe's!

During my degree I've been involved in many student initiatives and societies and have been inspired by the great work of student activists and local organisations. Most recently in my fourth year I had the opportunity to co-direct a student-led social enterprise aiming to raise awareness on the issue of homelessness in the city, and am really passionate about housing and social justice issues.

  • I believe there is so much to be done to foster a stronger relationship between students and the wider city of Edinburgh and I am excited to help enact some positive and lasting change.

  • I am more than happy to have a chat about anything and always feel free to get in touch!
