Are you a native or proficient speaker of French, Spanish or Italian?

Are you interested in working in education or with primary school students? Do you have a good level of spoken English as well as your French, Spanish or Italian? Are you studying French, Spanish or Italian to degree level? This is an excellent opportunity for any students interested in early development, education or French, Spanish or Italian language and culture!

We are looking for patient, responsible and enthusiastic individuals to join our languages programme!

As a volunteer, you will be involved in facilitating teaching French, Spanish or Italian to children in primary schools in and around Edinburgh. Your role will be to assist teachers, and to share French, Spanish or Italian language and culture with the children in an exciting and structured way. This commitment will run for 12 weeks from January 2021 and will give you a fantastic chance to develop skills. You will receive lots of training and support, and will be accompanied by teachers at all times – you don’t need to have worked with children before, just have enthusiasm, an interest in working with children and a desire to develop your skills within the role!

FLO aims to develop, maintain and promote language education in schools from a young age. This programme currently supports Edinburgh Council's modern languages programme, designed to support classroom teachers in delivering Modern Languages.
