Meet the Team

When you come in to the Advice Place at Potterrow you will be greeted at the front desk where someone will ask you for a brief overview of why you have come to see us. This is so we can make sure we get the right adviser for you. If they are available, they will see you there and then, but we may need to make you an appointment. We can arrange a time to have you come back in or a time for us to call you back. If you come to see us at the King’s Buildings Office there will be one adviser there who will help you if they are free. If they are not, they will need to make you an appointment.

 

When you call us or send us an email we may need to ask you a few questions to confirm your identity before we can offer any advice that involves us accessing your student records.

 

Gin Lowdean - Currently on Maternity Leave

Gin is the Advice Place Manager, she comes from a welfare advice background and manages the whole advice team, she is in charge of the service and how it is delivered.

 

Charlotte Macdonald - Manager (Maternity Cover)

Charlotte is currently the manager of the Advice Place. Charlotte is an experienced welfare adviser and has worked in a range of information, advice and guidance settings.

 

Sarah McDougall - Currently on Maternity Leave

Sarah is our Senior Welfare Adviser she manages our loans system and handles complex case work.

 

Rona Munro

Rona is a welfare adviser, she has previously worked as a disability adviser and she manages our c-Card scheme.

 

Greta Elliot

Greta is a Welfare Adviser. She has previously worked with asylum seekers and the Office for the Commissioner for Ethical Standards.

 

Claire Pecot

Claire is our Receptionist and Administrator, she is the person you will first meet, or talk to, when you come in or call and she will help you get to the right adviser if you need one, or point you in the right direction if you need something else. She manages our appointment and duty adviser system and she will usually be accompanied by a volunteer adviser on the front desk.
