What’s it all about?
We are the Edinburgh University Biology Peer Assisted Learning Scheme (BioPALS). A student led group whose goal is to support first year students achieve their academic potential and ease their transit from high school & university life. We have been hugely successful over the past few years and with your help hope to continue. BioPALS hold sessions throughout both semesters, which aim to assist students with course material across the school of biology. We also focus on developing biological skills through passing on our knowledge and personal experiences. We aim to equip first year students with skills that would encourage them to make the most of their time here & adjust quickly to the social and academic challenges of university.
How can I get involved?
We are also looking for motivated and enthusiastic students to join our team as facilitators. Successful applicants roles will primarily involve facilitating at sessions but as the year progresses there will increasingly be opportunities to get involved with session planning and committee responsibilities. We encourage students from across the year groups and from all biological disciplines. If you would like to be considered please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with a short paragraph illustrating why you would like to get involved.
