Catholic Students' Union

About Us

The Catholic Students' Union aims to to enable members to meet, work and celebrate in the spirit of the Catholic tradition. We hope to provide opportunities for deepening the understanding of the Catholic faith and to facilitate social events for our members and others.

The CSU is based in the centre of the Edinburgh University campus at the St.Albert's Catholic Chaplaincy, 23 George Square. A home away from home, the Chaplaincy's open common room with plenty of tea, coffee and free wifi often becomes a busy meeting place for students.
With numerous weekly events during term time, such as Daily Mass at 1.10pm followed by lunch, Midweek Meal, Theology then the Bar and Catholicism for the Curious the CSU always has something going on!
The Chaplaincy is part of the Parish of St Albert the Great; a Dominican Priory. The friars bring their tradition of religious life to their care for students and staff at the University and are available for a chat or to give advice throughout the week, as well as to celebrate the Sacraments.

Like any good student society and in keeping with the Catholic spirit, we enjoy food and drink: lunches, barbecues, evening meals, black-tie dinners, ceilidhs and trips to the pub often make up some of our events during the term.

In the Chapel, the Student Mass brings us together for prayer, we have an active choir group to which we heartily welcome new members.
