The External Affairs Standing Committee deals with issues that affect students off campus and that are not under university or Edinburgh University Students' Association control.
There are elected reps on the External Committee, but any student can come along, get involved in campaigns and raise an issue. Find out when the next meeting is here.
It covers a range of student issues including higher education funding, community issues, student debt and poverty, environmental issues, socially responsible and ethical investment and student political participation. If you want to lobby the City of Edinburgh Council or Scottish Government on issues like student transport, funding and cost of living, then this is the Committee to contact. Come along with ideas and work together with fellow students and EUSA reps to find solutions and take forward projects and campaigns.
The Convener of the External Affairs Committee is the Students' Association President, Alec Edgecliffe-Johnson. You can get in touch with him by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, calling the Students' Association office on 0131 650 2656 or popping into the office at Potterrow.
