The Vice President Community leads on the development of policy and campaigning positions that support the Students’ Association’s ongoing activity in the local community, on issues of importance to our members such as transport, housing, facilities and services. This includes all matters relating to social responsibility and sustainability.
Past achievements have included successfully lobbying the University for a price freeze on its cheapest student accommodation for 2018/19, and working with the Vice President Activities and Services on the campaign to give away nearly 4000 Keep Cups in an effort to cut down on disposable cup use.
A key aspect to all the Sabbatical Officer roles is also ensuring that students are engaged with and involved in developing and implementing the Students’ Associations projects, policies and campaigns, and that students are consulted with to ensure that the organisation is representing their views on issues which affect them.
