If you self-define as trans or non-binary and are passionate about making a real difference to the lives of students like you, why not stand to be our Trans and Non-Binary Officer for 2019/20?
The Trans and Non-Binary Campaign exists to provide a safe space within Edinburgh University Students' Association where self-identifying trans and non-binary students can come together, discuss the issues affecting them, and campaign to improve their student experience.
As this is a new position for 2019/20, you will have a key role to play in building up the Campaign and setting its direction for the future. You’ll have the opportunity to work on issues like trans awareness training for University staff, access to gender affirming items, and trans healthcare. You’ll also take a lead in organising events for Trans Day of Remembrance and LGBT+ History Month.
To see what the LGBT+ Campaign has been up to this year, check out the Liberation Campaigns’ Facebook page and the LGBT+ Students at the University of Edinburgh Facebook group. For more information you can email firstname.lastname@example.org.
In recognition of the work our Liberation Officers do, and the additional barriers they may face in taking up student representative roles, each Officer receives an honorarium of £1,200 which is paid in three payments across the year.
