If you self-define as LGBT+ and are passionate about making a real difference to the lives of students like you, why not stand to be our LGBT+ Officer for 2019/20?
The LGBT+ Campaign exists to provide a safe space within Edinburgh University Students' Association where self-identifying LGBT+ students can come together, discuss the issues affecting them, and campaign to improve their student experience. There are many identities which fall under the LGBT+ umbrella including, but not limited to, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, and asexual, and all students who self-define as LGBT+ are welcome to join.
As LGBT+ Officer you’ll have the opportunity to work on issues like staff training, tackling queerphobia, and building an inclusive queer community on campus. You’ll also take a lead in organising a programme of events for LGBT+ History Month in February.
To see what the LGBT+ Campaign has been up to this year, check out the Liberation Campaigns’ Facebook page and the LGBT+ Students at the University of Edinburgh Facebook group. For more information you can email email@example.com.
In recognition of the work our Liberation Officers do, and the additional barriers they may face in taking up student representative roles, each Officer receives an honorarium of £1,200 which is paid in three payments across the year.
