Our Liberation Campaigns exist to represent, support, and empower students from marginalised groups. They provide a space where students can come together, discuss the issues affecting them, and campaign to improve their student experience.
Each of our five Campaigns – Black and Minority Ethnic (BME), Disabled Students, LGBT+, Trans and Non-Binary, and Women – is led by an elected Officer whose role is to gather feedback from students who identify with the Campaign, lead on projects and campaigns, and represent students to both the Students' Association and the University.
Being a Liberation Officer is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of students like you. In recognition of the work our Liberation Officers do, and the additional barriers they may face in taking up student representative roles, each Officer receives an honorarium of £1,200 which is paid in three payments across the year.
