Venue Accessibility Information


Edinburgh University Students’ Association strives to make our venues as accessible and accommodating for people as we possibly can. Below is some information on the accessibility of our venues and events. If you need further information, please e-mail boxoffice@eusa.ed.ac.uk or call 0131 650 2656.  

All Venues:

  • Guide dogs and all other dogs are welcome at all of our venues.
  • We will provide free carers tickets for any of our shows or events.

  • All areas are accessible with the exception of the Venue upstairs which is accessed via a lift. A member of staff from the reception area is required to operate the lift. 
  • There is a lift located just outside of the Advice Place Office.

  • Pentland Room has a step to access the room. A member of the bar staff can assist with access.
  • Ochil & Highland are accessed via a lift outside the building. A member of the bar staff can assist with access.
  • All Pleasance West rooms are accessible and a lift provides unassisted access to all floors.
  • Pleasance Café and Bar/Cabaret Bar are accessible with the exception of the lower area in the Cabaret Bar which has 3 steps with a handrail.
  • The Pleasance Theatre can be accessed via a lift, please ask bar staff for assistance. For shows in the Theatre, please e-mail us at boxoffice@eusa.ed.ac.uk to let us know your access needs in advance as we have a limited wheelchair space.  Please note that the Lift is 150 x 105cm.
  • Upper Hall and Lomond are accessed via the main building via a lift. Munro can be accessed from the street but you will need to arrange for the fire escape to be        opened in advance.Quaker is fine if a little rough underfoot due to stones and gravel.

  • Lift access to the building entrance is situated in the Garden, which lies to the left of the main entrance. 
  • All rooms can be accessed via an internal lift in the building with the exception of the Billiard Room, Sports Bar and The Underground balconies. Note the Sports           Bar and The Underground are accessible via the lift. 
  • There is a step onto the Loft Bar conservatory/terrace.
  • Not all floors have accessible toilets. The Lower ground, Second floor and Third Floor have accessible toilets that are accessible via the lift.
  • For seated shows in the Debating Hall, please e-mail us at boxoffice@eusa.ed.ac.uk to let us know your access needs in advance as we have a limited wheelchair      space.

  • Ground Floor: all areas are accessible. 
  • Lower Ground Floor: The Gym & Squash Courts are accessed via steps from the male and female public changing rooms and are not accessible to wheelchair             users.
  • Middle Floor: All areas (including the Badminton Hall and Meeting Room) are accessible via a lift from the Ground Floor. 
  • Upper Floor: Not in use during 2018/2019.
  • An accessible shower room/toilet is located on the Ground Floor in the public changing room entrance foyer.

  • The Wee Red Bar is set across one ground level with no step areas. 
  • There are accessible toilets situated up a small ramp in the Link Corridor of the building. A member of the bar staff can assist with access.
