LAMPS (The Late Antique and Medieval Postgraduate Society) was founded by students who wished to create a cross-disciplinary medievalist forum in Edinburgh.
The society is open to all students interested in subjects from Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages, and includes students from Archaeology, Classics, Modern Languages, English Literature, Celtic studies, History, History of Art, and anyone else interested!
We organise weekly seminars, regular socials, and exciting field trips outside of Edinburgh. LAMPS is also a great way to get to know and discuss key disciplinary issues with other career researchers, present papers in a constructive environment and meet others willing to work on interdisciplinary projects.
We also organize a conference each summer to give postgraduate students and early career researchers a chance to present their work in a constructive environment.
Stay tuned for our upcoming calls for papers, seminar details, and list of events!
We also have a website! Check for updates throughout the term: https://lampsedinburgh.wordpress.com/.
