Calling all geologists, geographers, geophysicists, environmental geoscientists, ecologists and environmentalists – as well as anyone with a love for the Earth - this is the society for you!

GeosSoc hosts a variety of social and non-social events throughout the year. Past socials include scavenger hunts, pub and flat crawls and games nights. Every March we host our annual Geoscience Ball – the best night of the year. A night of laughs, ceilidh-dancing, club-going and yes of course - rock appreciation.

We also aim to introduce more academic-centred events this year in collaboration with other similar societies. Examples of this include panel discussions, career and networking fairs and GIS workshops.

GeosSoc also have our own intramural sports teams in hockey (The Gneiss Guys), football (Feldsparta Prague) and starting from this year, netball (Geo Giraffes). If you’re interested in any of these sports and want to play in a fun, all-abilities environment then join us! Beginners welcomed.

The society has recently gone through some rebranding (we were previously known as the Geological Society) and we have an amazing, enthusiastic committee with lots of great ideas for the 2020/21 session.
