Improvements to King’s Buildings bus services

New Kings Buildings Shuttle Bus Service New Kings Buildings Shuttle Bus Service

Your Sabbs Ollie Glick and Patrick  Kilduff have been working hard to improve the bus service to Kings Buildings. These improvements have been introduced following an evaluation of the Service 41 pilot carried out in March 2017.

The changes include,

New timetable

There is a new shuttle bus timetable for 2017-18.

This provides a new service from the Central Area to King's Buildings at 09:53 and an easier to remember 20 minute frequency timetable during the day.

New bus stops

The Central Area bus stop has changed to Bristo Square, next to Potterrow.

This bus stop provides more space for students to wait for the bus, and when the Bristo Square redevelopment is completed in autumn 2017, there will be seating and a bus shelter.

The King's Buildings bus stop is also being upgraded with a large bus shelter.

Evening £1 fare on Service 41

To better support access to facilities at King’s Buildings during the evenings, students will be able to use Lothian Buses Service 41 for just £1 after 6.30pm.

President Patrick Kilduff said  "This is great news for students and a further step in the right direction to providing more support for students at King's Buildings. The £1 fare is a fantastic opportunity for students with a much more affordable option to stay studying at King's into the evening. An extra shuttle service in the morning will hopefully alleviate some of the pressure for the morning rush, too.

We look forward to developing more comprehensive transport support for students in partnership with the University in the year ahead."
