Appleton Lecture Theatre 1

We live in exciting times! Elon Musk's Space X and similar companies are planning to make space travel more accessible than ever before. However, these dreams do not come without challenges. Join us and our panel of experts as we discuss some of these issues. We will have both student societies and selected invited speakers on our panels. Tea and coffee will be served between the two panel discussions each day.

The themes are as follows:

1) Life Sustaining Systems (Plant Science Society, Synthetic Biology Society, Chemical Engineering)

2) Impact on Human Health (Biomedical Sciences)

3) Challenges of Space Travel (Engineering)

4) Design of the Society (Architecture and Landscape Architecture Society)

5) Socio-political structure in a Mars colony (Sociology)

6) Is it ethical for humans to be multiplanetary? (Philosophy Society)

with speakers:

Tony Milligan: King's College London
Matteo Ceriotti: University of Glasgow
Dr. James Wang : Barts Health NHS Trust
