ISC trip to Newcastle & the Scottish Borders

Sat 04 February 2017 08:00-18:30

ISC (22b Buccleuch Place)

On the 4th of February, the ISC is visiting Newcastle, the capital of the North East and one of the largest cities in England! Newcastle has something for everybody, from historical sites of renowned importance (foundations of Hadrian's Wall, a 12th century castle, a 15th century Cathedral), fascinating museums (e.g. the Maritime Museum and Discovery Museum, where you can learn about life in the city), elegant streets (e.g. Grey Street with its Victorian buildings and Grey's Monument), a famous stadium (Newcastle F.C.) and university. Also, the city is famous for its seven bridges over the river Tyne, one of which, the Gateshead Millennium Bridge is an award-winning structure also known as the 'Blinking Eye' because of its shape and tilting method. Come and enjoy with us a day of sightseeing and shopping in this vibrant city!

On the way to Newcastle, we will also stop for a picture at the Scotland-England border monument.
