To mark Estranged Students Solidarity Week, the University of Edinburgh's Widening Participation Team are partnering with Edinburgh University Students' Association to host a panel discussion exploring current and future work to support estranged students at Edinburgh.
The panel will include representatives from the University's Edinburgh Cares group, as well as the Students' Association and the student-led group Tackling Elitism.
The panellists will reflect on the University's progress towards the Stand Alone pledge, as well as what more could be done to make Edinburgh a welcoming, supportive and empowering community for estranged students - that's students who are studying without the support of a family network.
Following the discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions of the panel or the University more widely.
This event is open to all members of the University community with an interest in this area, but we would particularly welcome attendance and participation from students with experience of estrangement.
