Language, Culture and Mental Wellbeing

Wed 13 November 2019 11:30-12:30

Room G37, Paterson's Land, Moray House School of Education and Sport

This event is organised by the University of Edinburgh Moray House School of Education and Sport.

Join us for an interactive workshop exploring variation in cultural attitudes towards mental health and wellbeing.

We'll be discussing different linguistic and cultural understandings of terms related to mental health including stress, counselling, depression and culture shock. The facilitators - who have expertise in the area of intercultural understanding - will also share their own experiences of communicating about mental health and wellbeing in a second language and different culture.

This workshop is designed for students and staff (both academic and professional).
