Facts and Fallacies: Cultural Representations of Mental Health

Wed 14 November 2018 11:00-13:00

Project Room, first floor, 50 George Square

Join students and staff for a series of talks exploring cultural representations of mental health.

Chaired by Professor Jolyon Mitchell, speakers will explore neuroscience perspectives on mental wellbeing, complex mental illness in the media, BAME mental health in the UK, mental health representations in the Lothian Health Services Archive, and gendered aspects of mental health.

The session will conclude with an open discussion of the themes raised and an opportunity to ask questions of the speakers.

Representatives from the Student Counselling Service, the Chaplaincy, and WellComm will also be available to signpost attendees to mental health and wellbeing resources at the University.
