University of Edinburgh Linguistics and English Language Society proudly presents: David J Peterson!

We are very excited to host the language creator and author David J Peterson for a guest lecture in September. He has created new, fully functional languages for shows like HBO’s Game of Thrones, the CW’s The 100, and Spike’s The Shannara Chronicles. In this talk, David will discuss how he creates languages that are not merely functional, but also naturalistic — appropriate to their setting, rather than artificial. Come and enjoy a celebration of humanity’s greatest invention: language.
