THE OFFICIAL WELCOME CEREMONY

THE OFFICIAL WELCOME CEREMONY

Mon 11 September 2017 13:30-15:15

McEwan Hall, Bristo Square

THE UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH

This traditional University ceremony welcomes new students to the University community. The Welcome Ceremony is the University’s official welcome address. The Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir Timothy O’Shea, will officially welcome you to the University. You will also get the opportunity to hear from a number of student Office Bearers, including your Students’ Association President Patrick Kilduff and senior members of University staff. This is a very high demand event, please arrive early to maximise your chance of gaining entry: Doors open at 1.30pm and the ceremony commences at 2.15pm. There are limited seats so if McEwan Hall has reached capacity you can still experience this inspirational event through a live stream at George Square Lecture Theatre and in the Library Bar.
