Manifesto

Candidate for the position of GeoSciences Undergraduate School Representative

Sam Tenny

Hi, my name is Sam, and I am running for the role of undergraduate representative for the School of Geosciences.

I am currently a second-year student within the School of Geosciences studying Geography & Economics. I am the current Treasurer of GeogSoc, and I have been a year rep at the student staff liaison committee for two years. I have enjoyed giving students a voice at SSLC meetings with senior staff members, and I would like to extend this voice further by becoming a representative for the school.

If elected, I would aim to improve the communication between students and representatives by offering the chance for more students to have a voice. I would like to achieve this through the use of regular feedback surveys and anonymous suggestion forms to ensure everyone is heard and no student is left out.

I also aim to improve the provision of study space for Geoscience students on both the Central and King’s Buildings campuses to ensure that you always have a place to study.

Thirdly, I would like to improve the social life at the school and foster a real sense of community by offering regular social events to give students across all years the opportunity to interact.
