Battling Dementia Through Language - Lingo Flamingo brings people together and provides dynamic, interactive language workshops to empower older adults and delay the effects of dementia and brain ageing. Research has shown that dementia can be delayed by up to 5 years by learning a second language. We are partnered with Edinburgh University and Alzheimer Scotland who are conducting further research into our innovative approach to dementia.

Lingo Flamingo is the world's first social enterprise which aims to make language learning accessible to older adults. We believe that it is never too old to learn a new language, and that language learning should be accessible, fun, immersive and stimulating. Since starting in 2015, we have taught in over 150 care homes across Scotland, from Edinburgh to the Isle of Arran. Because we are a not-for-profit social enterprise, we rely on being able to recruit talented and passionate linguists who are looking to gain unique teaching experience. Do you have language skills in either French, Spanish, Italian or German? Do you have 1 hour a week to spare over a 10 week period?
