Swahili Club brings together a variety of people through their common interest in East African language and culture, having been set up through the interest of various people at the University of Edinburgh. The club is open to all, not just students at the university; whether you've spent a day, a year or no time at all in East Africa. Swahili Club is a great place for beginners to get a feel for the language.
Swahili Club offers a Swahili language corner every week during the Autumn and Spring Semesters at Edinburgh Univeristy (dates and times will be posted regularly to our facebook page). Beginners, intermediate and advanced level Swahili speakers are all welcome at this conversation session.
The club also organises a number of cultural events throughout the year, ranging from film screenings to guest speakers, East African food events to charity fundraisers. The language corner is very social, but also very informative. For anyone with an interest in East Africa, karibu nyote!
