Made up of an increasing number of talented actors, directors, designers and producers, EUSC is committed to the production of one large-scale Shakespeare play each year, along with a smaller scale Shakesperimental production; a modern play which has been influenced by Shakespeare’s work. Workshops, monologue shows, networking events and the hugely popular Masquerade Ball happen throughout the year, advertised on our social media and throughout the university.

No matter what aspect of theatre you’re into, everyone is welcome to take part in workshops and productions in the safe creative space of the EUSC, which is constantly aiming to engage with Shakespeare’s work in new ways. Beyond acting there are also plenty of opportunities to get involved with directing, producing and technical managing, as well as a host of other backstage activities.

The EUSC's committee accepts applications for each year's show, opening mid-summer, with the aim to put on a show in the spring of Semester 2. All you have to do is decide on a play and a team (made up of a Producer, Director, Stage Manager, and Technical Manager) and apply! We then host informal interviews in order to discuss the applications and go from there.

If you don't want to be in the production team, but want to get involved backstage; if you have ideas for a workshop, or there is something you'd be interested to learn about; just drop us an e-mail or post on our wall. We’re a small, informal society and everyone’s involvement is highly valued.

We’re always looking to involve new members, so if you’re interested, please get in touch!
