Interested in writing, editing or design? We are the official journal of the school of History, Classics and Archaeology that offers plenty of opportunities for students at Edinburgh. We are the only undergraduate journal of its kind in the UK and we publish student literature online and in print.
All enquiries can be sent to: informationretro@gmail.com
Who are we? Retrospect is the University of Edinburgh's History, Classics and Archaeology journal. We publish throughout the academic year and are looking for academic articles, features and opinion pieces, TV/book/film/theatre reviews and historical fiction...in short, any articles that relate to the past! Not a History, Classics or Archaeology student? Don't worry! Retrospect is open to all students from any degree, and the content of the journal ranges from reviews of the latest books and films to academic essays and featured pieces.
Why should you join our society?
Our story so far... Retrospect was launched as the History Society journal in 2006. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength; in 2010, we won the Scottish Herald Award for Best Student Magazine in Scotland. In 2011, we became a fully-fledged society. We work closely with the History, Classics and Archaeology societies in order to bring you the best events, the latest news and a wide range of academic articles, interesting features and engaging reviews. You can contact the Editor in Chief, Anna Nicol, with any questions at: informationretro@gmail.com
We are always seeking new designers, illustrators, editors and writers irrespective of degree subject! If you want to meet the team, fancy getting involved or just want a drink then get in touch!
