Edinburgh University Musical Medics aims to be the most inclusive music society at the University of Edinburgh.

Musical Medics is a completely non-auditioning music society consisting of a choir and orchestra. We pride ourselves on being home to the university's largest fully non-auditioning orchestra, welcoming all string, woodwind, brass and percussion players. As our name suggests, many of our members are medics but we welcome members of all degrees and have an even split between medic and non-medic members.

At the end of each semester we perform a concert, the proceeds from which are donated to a medical charity.

We welcome everyone, whether you are a serious musician or someone who just needs a break from your studies!

Rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings each week:

  • Choir: 6.00 - 7.30pm, Music Room, Pleasance
  • Orchestra: 7.30 - 9.00pm, Lecture room A, Reid School of Music, Alison House, Nicolson Square

If you are hoping to join orchestra, unfortunately we do not have any instruments to loan.
