Bedlam Theatre / Edinburgh University Theatre Company

ABOUT US

Bedlam Theatre is the oldest student-run theatre in the UK. Our student membership oversees every aspect of running the building and all of its productions. We also run a series of workshops every week, as well as running our own theatre library, archive and a youth project group, taking theatre out into the community.

You can find all of our upcoming shows here. Tickets for our shows can be bought under the 'Our Products' tab.

GETTING INVOLVED

We run several open auditions throughout the year, and every show brings a new opportunity to get involved with stage and set, lights and sound, producing, fundraising, marketing, directing as well as getting some volunteer experience working front of house in a theatre.

Absolutely anybody who's a member can propose a show to be stage at Bedlam Theatre, and we give all our shows a small starting budget. Our shows range from small one-off lunchtime performances to bigger five-night runs called mainterms. We also stage a panto every year, and have performance weeks exclusively for new fresher teams.

We also run two week-long festivals during term-time (Freshers' Week and Bedlam Festival) during which we're open all week, with a fully operational cafe-bar and heaps more shows and workshops on all day. In addition, we open up as a professional Fringe venue for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe during August, and are proud to be one of the city's best-loved venues.

For more information about opportunities, check out our website: http://www.bedlamtheatre.co.uk/.
