Art Soc is an eclectic society for people of all – or no – creative abilities.
We run regular art classes, from our weekly life drawing to weekly workshops such as pottery, printmaking, and jewellery making. Our regular social sketch group meetings provide opportunities to draw interesting objects, settings and situations. We also organise gallery trips and discussions, both in Edinburgh and further afield, with plans for an end of year exhibition. For those of you who prefer writing about art to doing it, we have a zine, Yellerzine, which is put together entirely by our members. Yellerzine is anything and everything art, and we're always looking for submissions so please do get involved! We have regular socials at the various alternative bars and pubs in the city and we’ve also been known to throw the odd party and dance about with wild abandon – artistically though, of course.
