The Science Fiction and Fantasy Society, better known as Sciffy, meets twice a week. We meet once, every thursday, to watch Science Fiction or Fantasy TV series in a semi-comfortable university venue and we then retreat to a pub, mainly teviot, for a fun night. The Pleasance houses our library of over 1600 books and an expanding collection of comics and DVDs. We also hold regular film nights that showcase a wide variety of films from throughout the SciFi/Fantasy genres – from cult classics to cliché-fests, as well as game nights where members can indulge in their love for boardgames. These events tend to take place on a saturday night. We have a strong community of students and non-students and always welcome new members. Anyone is welcome to join us, as long as they love watching Science Fiction and Fantasy films and programmes. For more information, just get in touch or come along to a meeting.
