Rattlecap: n. A unsteady, volatile person; a madcap: generally said of a girl.

The Rattlecap is the University of Edinburgh's radical, left-leaning online publication. The Rattlecap was created in 2018 by a group of University of Edinburgh students who wanted to create a space where activism and radical thought were central and accessible.

We post monthly-ish issues, centered around a chosen theme, bringing together creative writing, politics, history, education, art, and advocacy. We value voices that are underrepresented in today’s narratives; perspectives which examine, challenge, and radically reimagine the society that we live in.

We host regular writer's meetings, socials, and potlucks - and we are a welcoming activist community to go to any protest or event with :)

Anyone can write, edit, and illustrate for us - just get in touch!
