Global Students Day

Global Students Day is a celebration of diversity, connections and community on and off campus. Global Students Day engages with the cultures and communities here in Edinburgh and beyond. It is day of global citizenship with events for local, international and online students to enjoy.

The theme for 2018 was ‘Connections’ – Connecting with yourself; with Edinburgh; with the planet; and with the world. With events including mindfulness, tai chi, storytelling, urban gardening, photography, spoken word, and dance, Global Students day is an opportunity to explore the richness of cultures and communities that make up the University of Edinburgh.

Check out the events programme below:

Breath and body – Connect with yourself using mindfulness and tai chi

Storytelling workshop – Connect with Edinburgh by exploring your own Edinburgh story

Photo exhibition – Edinburgh as seen through the lens of the winners of the Global Students Day photo competition

Grow Your Food – Connect with the planet and find out how to turn your flat into a garden

Celebrate – Connect with the world and celebrate our diverse campus with dance, spoken word and food

All events are free and open to everyone!

The day was organised by the Global Students Team at Edinburgh University Students' Association, with support from student leaders, Societies and local community projects. Our collaborators this year include the International Student Centre, New Scotland Country Dance, PhotoSoc, and The Chaplaincy.
