Opportunity of the Week
This week we have a few opportunities to work with Pilton Equalities Project, an organisation who enhances the quality of life for older and other vulnerable adults in North Edinburgh by continuing to develop services that enable active community participation, which encourage independence and which measurably reduce isolation. They are currently looking for:
Reading Buddy: Help people gain confidence in their literacy and numeracy skills. They are looking for a volunteer is who is competent and confident with basic literacy and numeracy & who would like to support people that struggle in these areas. Click here to apply
Passenger Assistant: PEP provide buses which are used to transport older local community members to various activities and clubs in the area. This role will support and assist those passengers during their time on the bus. Working in conjunction with a trained driver; duties include looking after the welfare and well-being of the passengers. Click here to apply
Driver: If you're over 21 and have a clean driving licence then PEP are looking for responsible drivers to help collect clients from their homes to a regular schedule. Click here to apply
Weekend Resource Companion: PEP offers craft workshops and other activities at the weekend to older members of the community. For this role, volunteers will assist service users attending these sessions, whilst additionally providing a conversation and socialisation service. click here to apply
Homecare Assistant: This is a demanding but really rewarding position which includes travelling to clients houses and helping light household duties as well as providing a warm friendly conversational and socialisation service click here to apply
