Free 'Taster' Language Classes 

The first of their kind in Scotland, our free language classes are the perfect ‘stepping stone’ into further language learning.   Language courses for Semester 2 include Arabic, Russian, Japanese, French, Spanish, Gaelic, and Irish.
 

Registration

There are still spaces left for the Semester 2 Irish and Brazilian Portguese courses.  
 
For Irish, please complete THIS REGISTRATION FORM and return by e-mail attachment (please write ‘EUSA’ and the language you wish to study in the subject field) to  B.Heriott@ed.ac.uk

Brazilian Portuguese - Thursdays, 4:10-6:10pm

Irish - Mondays, 5:30-7:30pm
 
Arabic (FULL) - Wednesdays, 4:10-6:10pm
 
Russian (FULL)  - Wednesdays, 4:10-6:10pm
 
Japanese (FULL) - Thursdays, 4:10-6:10pm

Course Information

Semester 2 courses begin the week of 4 February 2013. Classes will be held once a week for 2 hours (4.10 – 6.10 pm, with the exception of Irish). Each course will run for 6 weeks.

Spaces are limited and students will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis from the date of receipt of registration forms. Only successful applicants will be contacted. There is no waiting list for these classes. 

Languages for All

Offered by the Office for Lifelong, ‘Languages for All’ are short part-time day and evening courses in a range of languages at a beginners’ level and many up to advanced level. These do carry a fee, but it is a reduced cost for University students.

EUSA Teaching Awards 2013 – Winners Announced

Edinburgh University Students Association has announced the winners and runners up of the 5th EUSA Teaching Awards, at an Oscar style ceremony in front of invited University VIPs, shortlisted nominees and the students who nominated them.
